She believes that collaboration and emotional intelligence are key in building teams and strategies for personal/professional growth and positive social change.
Khumo’s experience at the UF/Gainesville has given her valuable insight into the developmental issues confronting her country, region, and continent. She has learned to tackle problems in innovative and sustainable ways, and her time here has honed both her soft and hard skills. Her resiliency strengthened by meeting new people and venturing into uncharted territory.
Khumo’s advice to students is to show up as their authentic selves at all times, to be willing to be helped and to help others, and to be compassionate to themselves and others. She believes that the interaction of knowledge and skills with experience is key to learning and that maximizing every opportunity to learn, grow, explore, and get involved outside the classroom is essential.
Khumo has maximized every opportunity during her time at UF, and she would not do anything differently if she had to redo her time there. Her commitment to social entrepreneurship and community development will undoubtedly lead to a bright future filled with positive social change. We congratulate Khumo Nicole Senuku on her achievements and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
