Spring & Summer 2021 CAS Conference Registration Awards – Due Mar. 8

Apply Now!

Under the Center’s US Department of Education Title VI NRC grant with supplemental support from UF Office of Research, the Center for African Studies typically has available annual travel awards for participation in academic conferences to present research related to Africa.

Given continued restrictions on travel due to Covid-19, for Spring and Summer 2021, CAS is offering support for virtual conference registration not to exceed $400. The award must be used prior to August 10, 2021.

For clarification, if UF travel restrictions are lifted and you secure permission from your College Dean for travel, if you select to use the award toward in-person conference registration, you must give the CAS office 30-day advance notice in order to comply with grant requirements and follow UF Travel Authorization rules and UFIC travel registration guidelines. At CAS, Candace Aho, candace.aho@ufl.edu can assist with this process.

Applications are due by 9am, Monday, March 8, 2021. Applicants will be notified by the week of March 22. Applications submitted after the deadline may be considered pending the availability of funds.

ALL Applications and supporting materials should be sent to candace.aho@ufl.edu via email with CRA SS21 – YOUR NAME as the subject.
