Conference Support in Action
Fall 2026
This fall, the Center for African Studies is helping UF graduate students take their Africa-related research to national and international conferences. Through our Graduate Conference Travel Grants, students presenting their work receive up to $400 toward registration, travel and lodging at meetings including the African Studies Association (ASA), APSA, AAA and AHA annual meetings.
Below, meet some of the students we’re supporting this semester and see where their research is taking them. Each post highlights a scholar, their project and the conversation they’re joining in their field.
Presenting at a conference is often a graduate student’s first chance to share their work with the wider field, get feedback from leading scholars and build their professional network. We’re proud to help make that possible.
