Africa | China: Rethinking the Belt-Road Initiative (BRI). 10:00am
CAWG will explore Africa-Asian maritime encounters and origins going back hundreds of years. They manifest in today’s discourses on China’s Maritime Silk Road and China’s current strategic African partners. These presentations explore historical early encounters to contemporary dimensions of strategic infrastructure construction and cultural exchanges that demonstrate: (1) the history of people-to-people relations & solidarities and (2) the world of African-Asian relations that began before Eurocentric histories.
