Africa | China: Impact of the Pandemic on Africa’s Health and China’s Response. 10:00am
Papers and discussions investigate China’s economic slowdown in relation to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) due to Covid-19 and increased debt burdens. It considers how Chinese lending and project types have been affected in scope and loan amounts. African countries, severely affected by Covid-19 are in the process of renegotiating Chinese-funded projects to deal with their debt burdens.
