Michela Wrong is a writer and journalist with nearly 30 years’ experience covering Africa. She joined Reuters in the early 1980s and served as foreign correspondent in Italy, France and Ivory Coast. She became a freelance journalist in 1994, and moved to then-Zaire, covering the genocide in Rwanda and the final days of dictator Mobutu Sese Seko for BBC and Reuters. She then spent four years from Kenya covering Africa for the Financial Times. The author of four non-fiction books and a novel, she is regularly interviewed by the BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters and other news outlets. She has published opinion pieces and reviews in the Observer, Guardian, Financial Times, New York Times, New Statesman, Spectator, Standpoint, Foreign Policy, and Conde Nast’s Traveller magazine. Wrong lives in London.
