This working group aims to highlight collaboration and innovation in the pursuit of global health in Africa by aligning with the CDC Global Health Strategy 2019-21. “The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) aspires to create a world where people – in the United States and around the globe – live healthier, safer, and longer lives.” This working group will utilize the specific training of UF faculty and continue to grow their collaborative network in order to further develop education, research and service related to fostering Global Health by focusing on Health in Africa. We would welcome this opportunity to formally align with multidisciplinary partners to create further synergy within our networks worldwide by focusing on health in Africa. With this opportunity to build additional educational opportunities for our UF community and to embark in collaborative projects with our partners abroad we will further the mission of internationalization at UF.
The goals of the Health in Africa Working Group collaboration are:
- To promote Health in Africa, whether in the provision of healthcare on the continent, or programs designed worldwide by practitioners who identify themselves as African or collaboration of UF partners with those who meet the preceding definitions;
- To involve our professional students with the past, present, and future of African nations through research and design of healthcare systems;
- To connect UF to the global network of people with an active interest in the study and development of systems for Health in Africa.
