Hello! I’m Riley Ravary, the new Programs and Communications Officer taking over for Jenny Boylan. This is my fourth year at UF researching East African protected areas through the Anthropology doctoral program. My undergraduate education was completed at Michigan State University, where I first started participating in African Studies coursework through their Center’s program. Here at UF I was a FLAS Fellow in Swahili for two years, and have been active in multiple CAS organizations including African Studies Quarterly and the Social Change and Development in Africa Working Group. Many of you have seen me around the Center before this year, but if you haven’t I hope to meet you soon!
Some of my responsibilities include curating the weekly CAS Bulletin, managing CAS social media, and attending lectures and events sponsored by the Center. Please let me know if anything interesting is happening that you would like me to attend, or that you would like featured in the Bulletin. You can contact me by email at ufcasbulletin@gmail.com or by visiting me in my office, GRI 491.
