Africa | China: African Debt Rescheduling and Management. 10:00am
CAWG will explore the presence of China in East Africa, especially BRI and debt rescheduling. China is expanding its role in the Indian Ocean (South & East Asia regions) to be a gateway to Africa. The transit route along the Maritime Silk Road, is poised to offer economic opportunities for many countries. Chinese-built and funded transport infrastructures that link coastal to landlocked African countries will expand China’s international trade involvement in Africa. Enhanced transport connectivity provides advantages (FDI) to the business environment bringing opportunities to Africa’s coastal and landlocked countries.
