Roman Catholic – Muslim Encounters in Colonial Mali.
This paper considers the complex history of Muslim-Christian encounters in colonial Mali. The frequently contentious encounters between African colonial subjects and the White Fathers, the Roman Catholic missionary order, help to illustrate how different religions and Muslims and Christians have been mutually imbricated over time.
